Quick 37 week appointment update
Posted on 08:11
by Unknown
The latest update is...
that there isn't much to report!
Although my belly is measuring at 40 weeks (yikes),
I'm still 1 cm dilated, and I'm about 70% effaced.
Baby is at -3 station, so he's low, but not engaged for labor yet.
I also tested positive for Group B Strep,
which sounds scary, but it really isn't.
All it means is that I'll need an antibiotic added to my IV drip
during labor, to prevent baby from getting sick.
Other than that, there isn't a whole lot to talk about at this point.
We are just waiting to see what my body does over the next week,
and I'll get another checkup on Thursday to see how things are progressing.
I am so ready to meet my son, it isn't even funny!
I do want him to be fully "cooked," though.
So we wait. :)
More to come!

37 Week Update
Posted on 05:22
by Unknown
How far along?
37 weeks!
Due Date:
February 3, 2011
Total weight gain/loss:
+23.. I think I've plateaued.
Maternity clothes?
Even some of those don't fit anymore!
Sleep:
Restless and uncomfortable.
Best moment this week:
Getting the car seat installed
and the hospital bag packed. We're ready when you are, sweet Colin!
Movement:
He likes to dance :)
Food cravings:
Fruit sounds really good lately. I should buy some.
Food aversions:
I've had some aversions to smells lately,
like an onion dip that I made. Tasted great, but it smelled awful (to me).
Gender:
It's a boy!
Labor Signs:
I'm still having contractions,
but they are few and far between right now.
At my last appointment I was 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced.
We'll see what tomorrow's appointment brings!
Belly Button in or out?
It's an innie, but a shallow one.
What I miss:
The use of my right hand. Seriously...
this carpal tunnel business has got to go.
What I am looking forward to:
My weekly appointment,
which is tomorrow morning. It's funny...
I always thought I'd hate internal exams, but
I sort of look forward to them now.
It's nice to know what's going on in there!
Milestones:
I am officially considered full term now.
Looking forward to meeting my little boy!
I got brave this week and decided to share a bare belly pic.
Proceed with caution! :)

Today in Pictures -- SNOW DAY!
Posted on 15:48
by Unknown
Today has been a very relaxing day for Justin and me.
We prepared meals at home together
(pancakes and bacon for brunch,
burgers on the indoor grill for dinner),
watched a movie (Babel),
played in the snow a little bit,
and generally spent a lot of time hanging out and talking.
As
we speak
I type,
we are getting some freezing rain,
so I am hoping I'll get one more day off tomorrow.
I could really get used to this!

36 Week Update
Posted on 11:03
by Unknown
How far along?
36 weeks.
Due Date:
February 3, 2011
Total weight gain/loss:
Somewhere in the +24 range.
Maternity clothes?
I think that by now, this question is a bit silly. :)
Sleep:
Not so great. The weird/vivid dreams are making
a comeback, though, so I am apparently getting
SOME quality sleep!
Best moment this week:
Seeing my son on ultrasound.. in 3D!
Thank you, awesome ultrasound tech!
Movement:
All the time.
Food cravings:
Yesterday I was suddenly in the mood
for a cherry limeade from Sonic.
Of course, we ran right out and got me one. :)
Food aversions:
Justin and I both could barely eat the pasta
I made for dinner last night. Either I had an aversion and he
had a sympathy aversion, or dinner just wasn't that good. ha!
Gender:
It's a boy!
Labor Signs:
Still having BH contractions,
and according to my internal exam today,
I am 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced!
Belly Button in or out?
Still an innie.
What I miss:
Not having a tingly/numb hand...
thank you, pregnancy induced carpal tunnel!
What I am looking forward to:
Experiencing labor... yep, I said it.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm getting really excited.
I am so ready to meet my son!
Milestones:
I am dilating and effacing.. hooray!
28 days left until the due date,
but the doctor doesn't think we'll make it that long.
Here I am at 36 weeks...
...and here are some photos of my sweet boy!
